La Casa del Cine en Níjar

Níjar - Cabo de Gata

Location

The house stands on Plaza del Granero, in the historic centre of Níjar, among the white houses of the old quarter and a few steps from the church.

Pl. del Granero, 5, 04100 Níjar, Almería, Spain

Níjar is a whitewashed hill village looking out over the plain towards the sea, known across Spain for its pottery and its jarapa rugs. Everything in the old quarter is within a short walk: craft workshops, the Golondrina Cave, small galleries and the terrace of Café-Bar La Glorieta, 50 m from the door, where the village gathers for tapas. Pata Negra is 250 m away and Pizzeria 4 Caminos 300 m.

The village is also the gateway to the Cabo de Gata-Níjar natural park, a volcanic coastline of protected beaches and coves. Mónsul, Los Genoveses, Playa de los Muertos, Las Negras, Cala Rajá, Cala Chica and Cala de Enmedio are all within an easy drive, and Playa del Alquián is 26 km from the house.
